The Assignment
For this assignment, we had to work together in a group of six to create a game set in the year 2050. The game had to be a 3D game with the story as a focus, aligning with the theory of the future mundane. We were graded on the quality of sound, modeling, story, interaction, visuals, and programming. We had 6 weeks to create the game.
Process
In the first week of the design process, we focused on creating a storyline that all team members were satisfied with. During the creation of the story, we also did a lot of world-building, which was important to make our world as believable as possible. In this first week, I was helping with the story and discussing with my teammates what kind of interactions were going to be implemented in the game. We also programmed small test demos to see what was possible in the Unity game engine.

The remaining five weeks were spent programming all the features needed for the game and implementing models, sounds, and story scripts. The biggest challenge during these weeks was organizing the amount of work I had to do and ensuring that everybody on the team was on the same page about the direction the game was heading.

Skills
During these 6 weeks, I improved my C# skills and Blender skills significantly. This improvement is evident when comparing this game with my previous one, Mystery of Stonehead Island. I also enhanced my teamwork skills because I held a central position in this project, where communication was key.
Results
We ended up with a story-driven game set in the smog-filled city of Stuttgart. You play as a music teacher who must visit his students on the other side of town. During this trip, the player learns a lot about the world in the year 2050.
